UW hardmode question - Guild Wars Forums

I've been trying to enter uw in hard mode, but I'm always getting this messege saying that I don't meet the requirments. So I'm wondering, what ARE the requirments....I've beaten both factions and nightfall, so do I have to beat proph's?

Are you entering from ToA or where? If you haven't Ascended in Prophecies and you're entering from ToA, that's the reason.

lol? I wasn't ascended in prophecies, yet I entered from ToA. @OP Most likely is if you are trying to enter with henchmen.

Its happened with both my ele and my monk (ele is solo, and the monk I bring a hero for 600 smite) Both of which get the same messege. But it acts like its in hardmode because the dying nightmares were like lvl 26 last night, everything attacked much faster, and in the corner it gave the helm saying I was getting the +50% exp.

And also, I'm going in from chantry of secrets. Both of these characters have beaten nightfall as well. When ever we get favor again I'll go in and take a screen shot.

Maybe you need to ascend in Hard Mode first? That would make sense.

I am a Tyrian Character, I have Protector Title in Cantha and Tyria. Me and a friend went to UW in Cantha cause he had beaten shiro on Masters. But every time we entered he got the message but i didn't. This may seem wierd but iv compleded the UW he hasn't. Could that contribute?

That's logical : if you haven't finished prophecies on any of your characters, you can't enter hard mode in prophecies

This happens to me also but only when I go in solo(55 necro). When I run a SS necro with a 55 monk partner hardmode activates and I dont get the message. I think Anet is trying to stop people from being able to farm in the UW in hard mode because HM has an increased drop rate in ecto/rares and so forth.
